Summer Schedule - 2012/13 Band Camp Dates and Hours

Band Camp - July 30th- Aug 3rd & Aug 6th – 10th
July 30th – Aug 1st – 8a-5p (12-1p lunch)
Aug 2nd – 3rd – 9a-9p (12-1p lunch, 4-6p dinner)
Aug 6th – 7th – 9a-9p (12-1p) lunch, 4-6p dinner)
Aug 8th – 8a-5p (12-1p lunch), Pool Party?
Aug 9th – 9a-9p (12-1p lunch, 4-6p dinner)
Aug 10th – 9a-4p, 6p Parent performance/pot luck (12-1p lunch)

Summer Evening Practices begin
Aug 14th - 5-9p
Aug 16th - 5-9p
Aug 21st – 5-9p
Aug 23rd – 5-9p

2012-2013 School year Begins Monday August 27th

Fall Rehearsal Schedule
Full Band rehearsals are every Tuesday and Thursday immediately after school from 2:45-5:45pm with Marching Club for first year marchers being 5:50-6:00p. This schedule will be for the entire Marching season.
Details on sectionals, other rehearsals and band events will be announced as the season approaches, but every Tuesday and Thursday evening will be full band rehearsals.

Scrip Card  Fundraiser Update

Band families! Take advantage of our next Scrips gift card order. With two orders submitted, the band has received more than $700 in profits, and students have earned more than $400 in their student accounts. Use the attached order form to purchase gift cards for your everyday spending.  Whether you are grocery shopping, purchasing gas, or paying for clothing, shoes, or household goods, you can use gift cards and support the band at the same time. As an added bonus, a third of the profits go into your student's account. Start building your student's account for Band Camp dues!
 
Is your student going to Disney? Will they be taking spending money for inside the park?  Disney cards in denominations as low as $25 are available!
 
Use this order form to make your order. Orders will be due March 26th and gift cards will be sent home with students the following week.
 
If you are mailing your order, please give plenty of time for it to reach the PO Box. You can send orders in with your student.

Scrip Gift Card  Fundraiser

Because we want to offer fundraisers that provide value to band families, we will begin ordering Scrip gift cards. You don't need to purchase things you won't use, students don't even have to go out and sell. If band families alone participate in this program we should be able to generate revenues for the band.
 
How Scrip cards raise revenues for us - The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of non-profit organizations, to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Our organization buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center and receives a percentage of the face value of each gift card.
 
Do you shop at Walmart, Sams, Target, Walgreens, or CVS? We've got a card for that. Do you buy gas at Mobil, Exxon, or BP? We've got a card for that. Do you buy your home improvement supplies at Lowes, Home Depot, or Ace Hardware?  We've got a card for that.  Is your student going to Disney? Do you think they will buy souvenirs?  We've got a card for that. You can buy these gift cards to do your normal shopping. You can use them to pay your bills.

Students will receive a percentage of the proceeds into their student account..
For example; Sheetz  $100 gas card- 3% rebate - $1.00 into student account and $2.00 to band general fund.
CVS/pharmacy $100 gift card- 6% rebate- $2.00 into student account and $4.00 to band general fund.
 
You can see how these small amounts can add up over time, not just to support your student's band, but as funds into your student's account.  Funds come to both the band and your student's account immediately with order. We don't have to wait for a check!!!
 
Use this Family order form to make your order.  Orders should be turned in with payment and we anticipate a turnaround time of approximately one week for cards to be delivered.  First order will be placed February 14th.  Forms due by that day with payment.
 
We hope to keep this as an ongoing fundraiser with orders submitted at least monthly.  (1/29/12)

GoodSearch

Be sure to use the GoodSearch charity search engine to help raise funds for the band all year long. Searches and purchases made on GoodSearch earn funds for the JHS band account.  We earn 1 penny per search and can also earn up to 37% of purchases made using Goodshop, depending on the vendor. Consider doing your online holiday shopping using Goodshop and raise money for the band at the same time.
