Sanderson HS – The Capital City Band Expo – Sat.

Jordan Band's 4th Competition of the season is
Saturday, October 24th at Sanderson HS in Raleigh. This
competition is scheduled as a prelims and finals competition. For our new
parents and students, this means if we place in the top 8 in the afternoon,
we will have an opportunity to perform again, later in the evening. All
students must be at JHS at 11am. Please have a good meal before you arrive.
We will be departing Jordan by 1:00pm by Activity Bus and expect to arrive
at Sanderson before 2:00pm. I will try to give the students on opportunity
to eat concessions when we arrive, but that will depend on whether the
competition will be running early, on time or late. We will not have an
opportunity to go into the stadium and watch any bands perform because our
warm up time is slated for 3:00pm. Our performance time is 4:00pm with
prelims awards being held at 5:30pm. If we make finals, they will begin at
7:15pm with “The Capital Cup” awards ceremony being held at 9:45pm. Please
bring warm clothes as fall is in full swing. We will leave at the conclusion
of awards which I would think would take roughly an hour or so. The Jordan
Band has traditionally stopped off at “Fat Daddy’s Restaurant” after our
Sanderson performance and I would like to keep that tradition going. Here
are the restaurant’s particulars.

Our arrival time at Fat Daddy’s will depend on whether we
make finals or not. The same can be said about when we expect to arrive back at
Jordan. I will ask all the students to call their parents to make sure everyone
knows our plan after the prelims awards ceremony. If we do not make finals, I
would expect to be home before 9pm. If we do make finals, I would expect to be
home by 12am.
