Wakefield HS – The Heart of Carolina - Sat. Oct. 3rd
Jordan Band's 2nd Competition of the season is
Saturday, October 3rd at Wakefield HS. This is one of three
competitions this year that are scheduled as prelims and finals competition. For
our new parents and students, this means if we place in the top 8 in the
afternoon, we will have an opportunity to perform again later in the evening.
There are a total of 20 bands competing in the prelims competition and there
most certainly are not any guarantees. All students must be at JHS at 9am for
our pre show festivities. Please have a good meal before you arrive. I will try
to give the students an opportunity to eat concessions when we arrive at
Wakefield, but that will depend on whether the competition will be running
early, on time or late. We will be departing Jordan at 11am by Activity Bus and
expect to arrive at Wakefield HS by 12pm (our arrival time is scheduled at
12:15p). We will not be able to watch other bands perform before our performance
time, but we will be able to watch afterwards as there are 9 bands performing
after us. Our performance time is 2:15pm with the prelims award ceremony being
held around 5pm. If we make finals, they will begin at 6pm with the awards
ceremony being held around 9:30pm. Our expected arrival time back at Jordan will
depend on whether we make finals or not. The students will be instructed to call
home for pickup roughly 10 minutes before we arrive at Jordan and I will tell
them to also call home after prelims awards to give you on update on our finals
status.
Please do come and support the Jordan Marching Band at
Wakefield HS. We encourage you all to come to Jordan before hand, follow our
buses, and join in on the fun. And we want to hear the “JHS” from all of you in
the stands. The students are anxious to hear the parents continue this tradition
for us! Thanks and see you all at Wakefield.
