Jordan Band's final Competition of the season is Saturday, November 6^th at Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs NC. I can't believe this is the final competition for us this year! This is a pre-lims and finals event and is a tremendous opportunity for us to perform for an exceptional panel judges and to see bands from different parts of the state. All students must be at JHS at 8:30am. Please have a good meal before you arrive as we may not have a chance to eat until after we perform. We will be departing Jordan by 9:30am via Coach Buses. I would expect to arrive at Gardner Webb University by 1pm. We are in class 2A and our performance time is scheduled for 3:30pm with warm up time being 2pm Please see the attached schedule as well as other pertinent information. I will try to give the students an opportunity to eat concessions when we arrive, and hopefully we will arrive early so we may. However, we will only have roughly 1 hour to eat and get dressed before warm up. Another important aspect of this show is that tickets are $8 for prelims and if we make finals, we will need to purchase tickets again for finals. The stadium will be emptied and tickets will be resold (again for $8) in order to see finals. While this may be a surprise for all of us, please keep in mind that this event is sponsored by Carolina Crown and is a fundraiser for them. Yes, it is a performance for us and our children, but Carolina Crown views this as a fundraiser for their Drum Corps first and foremost. If we do not make finals, we will come home immediately following awards. The awards ceremony should conclude around 530pm. Our arrival home will depend on whether we make finals or not. Please bring extra warm clothes as fall is in full swing and we will be outside for a good portion of the day. I will have the students begin the phone chain toughly 20 minutes before our arrival at Jordan.
