Band Gala

We are beginning to prepare for the Gala on May 28 by collecting auction items. Everyone in the band family is asked to help gather items for the Gala auction.  We will list items as they are collected so that we don't become a nuisance to local businesses. Please consider asking the businesses you frequent to consider making a donation for the auction.  It's a very inexpensive way for them to advertise their business, as we expect to sell over 800 tickets to the Gala!

Look for a letter and tax receipt on the band web site that you can download and take with you.  When you have secured an item, please inform Paige Cragg (pccragg@aol.com).  She will collect items before the auction.

  •  To date, we have had the following items donated:

  • A Silpada necklace and matching earrings (silver and green) valued at $120 (Evalee Parker, Silpada Representative)
  • A Christmas book and cd autographed by Andy Griffith
  • A pottery bowl made by Ida Friday
  • An autographed copy of William Friday's biography written by Bill Link (autographed by Bill Friday)

Also, if you are aware of a printer who would give us a good deal on the Gala programs (color cover sheet, the rest black and white) please inform Virginia Taylor (rvgtaylor@earthlink.net) as soon as possible.

Anyone interested in helping with the planning and preparation for the Gala is invited to attend a meeting on Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. in the band room.

 thanks

The Auto Bell Charity Car Wash has ended. The band sold 71 tickets for total sales of $990.55.  Total profit was $494.87 of which $164.72 was applied to student accounts…  leaving 330.15 for the band. Remember that tickets are good for six months.  Thanks again to Kathy Hall for coordinating this fund-raiser.
