Reminders for this week
- Another hot week is upon us.
Remember to bring sun screen and the water jugs
filled with ice water. Students should inform Mr. Weiss immediately if they
feel sick or overheated.
- A potluck will be held on Friday,
August 8 after the annual Parent Night Performance/Show & Tell.
Details are on the website. The performance begins at 6:30 p.m., so allow
enough time to drop off food items in the school cafeteria and get to the
practice field (adjacent to the band room) from the cafeteria. You might
want to bring a lawn chair to the performance; seating is not provided.
- The band will have a basketball
tournament at the school after Friday's potluck. Ask
your student for details.
New for this week
- The Band Boosters Board will meet
on Thursday, August 7, 6:00 p.m. at the home of Virginia Taylor.

- Families who want to join the Band
Boosters can purchase memberships at the potluck.
Booster memberships are only $10/family.
- We encourage you to sign up for one or more
volunteer opportunities during the potluck on Friday. You might
consider bringing your calendar to verify your availability on date-specific
- Our first Spirit Clothes order will
be placed the week following band camp. If you want Jordan Band spirit
clothes before the first football game, please fill out your order form and
pay this week. Extra forms will be available at the

- Evening rehearsals will be held on
Tuesday, 8/12, 8/19, 8/21 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The
8/14 date has been postponed by Mr. Weiss but will be rescheduled.
- Additional orders and/or payments for
shoes and gloves must be made by Tuesday, August 12. For new orders, the
student must provide size information along with the payment. Payments and
orders should be sent to the address below. There are also pre-addressed
envelopes in the band office.
